About Louise S. Dunn
Offering 45 Years of Experience in the Veterinary Field
After twenty one years of managing in the veterinary field, Ms. Dunn started Snowgoose Veterinary Management Consulting, which provides technical assistance to practice teams to meet their strategic plans. Snowgoose works with a wide variety of practices. They range from large specialty hospitals with 100 plus team-member companion animal referral centers, to mixed animal hospitals, to single veterinarian practices.
Ms. Dunn conducts practice management workshops at numerous veterinary schools and works with many of the VBMA clubs. She has also contributed to a number of books including both editions of the 5 Minute Consult, Pathways to Ownership and Veterinary Clinics of North America. She has two new books One co-authored with Ross Clark available on Open Book Management with scorecards. The second book co-authored with Katherine Dobbs on HR. Ms. Dunn has been actively involved as a executive council member of Fear Free. Including writing modules for accreditation and helping hundreds of practices creating the culture and implementing Fear Free in their businesses.
She speaks internationally and nationally on various veterinary management topics at meetings including TNAVC, WVC, ACVIM, VSIPP, CVC, AAHA and AVMA . Over the years she has received numerous awards as including Practice Management Educator of the Year at WVC 2007 and The Life Time achievement Award in January 2016.
Louise was one of the first Fear Free Certified Professionals.
Ms. Dunn is on the BOD of the Society of Veterinary Medical Ethics, executive council of Fear Free, the program chair of the VMX - formerly NAVC - conference, a founding member, past board member and officer of Vet Partners formerly the Association of Veterinary Practice Management Consultants and Advisors (AVMPCA, the national VPI Leadership Council, the past vice president of VESPA (Veterinary emergency and specialty association), a former member of the AAHA LINC Leadership Advisory Committee, and is a member of the VHMA and AVMLA. She attended Hartford College for Women, Trinity College and AAHA’s Veterinary Management Institute at Purdue University. Ms. Dunn brings a unique combination of business, -in-the-trenches experience, and knowledge to the veterinary industry.
Besides all aspects of practice management and mentoring, Louise’s passions include her husband Joel, Zuri the wonder English mastiff , kayaking, opera and New England Patriot’s football.
